About Jenna

Jenna is the author of both fiction and nonfiction picture books. Her book, I See Sea Food: Sea Creatures That Look Like Food (Millbrook Press, 2019) was the winner of the 2020 Connecticut Book Award in the Young Readers Nonfiction category. She lives on beautiful Cape Cod with her husband, two awesome kids, two cats, and one dog. Jenna has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Boston College and a Master’s in Education from the University of New England. She is a library media specialist at a K-4 school. When she’s not at school, she can be found at her desk, drinking iced coffee and working on her next story.

  • When I was young, my favorite sport was gymnastics.
  • I was a Boston College cheerleader.
  • I love the Boston Red Sox.
  • My daughter and I love to ski, but my husband and son are snowboarders.
  • My favorite TV show is Survivor. I’ve applied to be on it twice, but sadly I wasn’t chosen.
  • I went skydiving once.
  • In the summer, I drive a pink 1956 Ford Fairlane.
  • I grew up in Connecticut and lived there until very recently.
  • I love Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
  • I didn’t always want to be a writer, but I’ve always LOVED to read.
  • During my career as an educator, I taught Kindergarten, first grade, and third grade. I was also a Library Media Specialist.
